Welcome to Hackney Skip Hire. By utilizing our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully to ensure a clear understanding of our policies and procedures.
1. Definitions
- Customer: Any individual or entity that hires a skip from Hackney Skip Hire.
- Company: Hackney Skip Hire, its employees, and agents.
- Skip: The container provided by the Company for waste disposal.
2. Booking and Availability
All bookings are subject to availability. The Customer must provide accurate information during the booking process, including the type and volume of waste to be disposed of.
2.1 Reservation Confirmation
Upon successful booking, the Company will send a confirmation email outlining the booking details. The Customer must review this information and notify the Company of any discrepancies within 24 hours.
3. Payment Terms
Customers are required to pay the total cost of the skip hire service at the time of booking. Accepted payment methods include credit/debit cards and bank transfers.
3.1 Additional Charges
Additional fees may apply for:
- Overfilling the skip beyond the agreed capacity.
- Retaining the skip beyond the rental period.
- Collection of prohibited items.
4. Use of the Skip
The Customer agrees to use the skip solely for the lawful disposal of waste materials. The following items are strictly prohibited:
- Hazardous materials, including chemicals and asbestos.
- Perishable goods.
- Electrical appliances containing harmful substances.
4.1 Prohibited Items
Disposing of prohibited items may result in additional charges and legal action. The Customer is responsible for ensuring that all waste is compliant with local regulations.
5. Delivery and Installation
The Company will deliver the skip to the specified location within the agreed timeframe. The Customer must ensure that the designated area is accessible and free from obstacles.
5.1 Customer Responsibilities
It is the Customer's responsibility to prepare the installation site by:
- Clearing the area of debris and obstructions.
- Ensuring adequate space for skip placement.
- Notifying the Company of any access restrictions.
6. Liability
The Company is not liable for any damage to property or injury to individuals resulting from the improper use or placement of the skip. It is the Customer's responsibility to ensure safe and legal placement.
6.1 Insurance
Customers are advised to have appropriate insurance coverage when hiring a skip. The Company’s liability is limited to the value of the skip hire service.
7. Cancellation Policy
Customers may cancel their booking up to 48 hours before the scheduled delivery time without incurring any charges. Cancellations made within 48 hours of delivery may be subject to a cancellation fee equivalent to 50% of the total booking cost.
7.1 Refunds
Refunds for cancellations will be processed within 14 business days. The refund will be issued using the same payment method originally used for the booking.
8. Termination
The Company reserves the right to terminate the skip hire service if the Customer breaches any of the terms and conditions. In such cases, the Customer will be liable for any outstanding charges and may be required to remove the skip immediately.
8.1 Breach of Terms
Examples of breaches include:
- Non-payment of fees.
- Use of the skip for prohibited items.
- Damage to the skip or property.
9. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
9.1 Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to seek resolution through negotiation before pursuing legal action.
10. Amendments
The Company reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Customers will be notified of significant changes through email or official communication channels.
10.1 Notification of Changes
Customers are responsible for reviewing the terms and conditions regularly to stay informed of any updates.
11. Privacy Policy
Personal data collected during the booking process will be handled in accordance with the Company’s privacy policy. The Company is committed to protecting the Customer’s privacy and ensuring data security.
11.1 Data Usage
Customer information will be used solely for the purpose of providing and improving the skip hire service, and will not be shared with third parties without explicit consent unless required by law.
12. Force Majeure
The Company is not liable for any failure to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, or other unforeseen events.
12.1 Definition
Force Majeure events are those that prevent the Company from fulfilling its contractual duties, and may include but are not limited to extreme weather conditions, strikes, or governmental restrictions.
13. Severability
If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
13.1 Continuing Provisions
The invalidity of one provision does not affect the validity of the other provisions, which shall remain binding.
14. Entire Agreement
These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Customer and the Company regarding the skip hire service, superseding all prior agreements and understandings.
14.1 Amendments and Modifications
No amendment or modification of these terms shall be valid unless in writing and signed by both parties.
15. Acceptance
By hiring a skip from Hackney Skip Hire, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
